Discography

Discography is an independent music magazine about the artists building India's independent scene. We listen first, write in our own voice, and check every release date, label and credit against a primary source before a piece goes live.

What it covers

  • Reviews of new singles, EPs and albums from Indian independent artists
  • Artist profiles on where a musician came from and what they're making now
  • Scene analysis and features on labels, cities, festivals and the business of independent music
  • Practical guides for musicians: royalties, playlist pitching, live gigs, promotion, AI and copyright
  • A monthly issue collecting the month's pieces in one place

How it works

Every piece carries a byline and is edited by the Discography editor. Reviews are clearly opinion; facts are kept separate and linked to their sources. Discography never charges artists, labels or PR agencies for coverage. When we get something wrong, a dated correction is published on the article.

For artists

Musicians can submit their music for consideration at no cost. Once an artist is covered, the Press Kit gives them a "Featured on Discography" badge and a branded editorial card for every article about them. They can download it or embed it on their website, EPK or Linktree, and it always links back to the original piece.
